Re: Unable to addFile

Thanks Ryan, I will look into truncating the filename. Is it the entire filename including the extension that is limited to 64 characters? A side note, it would be really awesome if this feedback could be delivered via the API, rather than just a generic exception.

Unable to addFile

I recently made it so our system would not submit files with multiple periods, but I'm getting the same type of error and this file has no periods. Can you please help me decipher what is going wrong here? https://raw.github.com/gist/1c7cc5654cb2b1b21451/6acb605739991fd026b2d81572ca180a9902d206/gist...

could not insert: [com.bullhorn.entity.candidate.Candidate]

Another error with very poor feedback as to why it is failing, any help would be appreciated. Here's a link to the SOAP request/response.

Re: Error when saving candidate

I have no reference to corporationID in our code so I'm not sure what that is. I'm using the username "api.rm".

You are correct the error is occurring when using the addFIle operation.

Here is a link to the output of the SOAP request and response. Let me know if you need anything else to help troubleshoot:

Error when saving candidate

We keep getting this error when trying to save certain candidates: javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.DataException: could not insert: [com.bullhorn.entity.userwork.UserWorkFile]

Can you provide any insight into what this means and how to fix it?

Re: Issues with parseResume

So we need to parse the hrXML returned, populate an HTML template to match how resumes are formatted by your system when uploading, and the just save it in the description field? Is there really no higher level function exposed via the API to handle this for me?

Re: ParseResume Issue on API 2.0 (URGENT)

Thanks that is what I was looking for. We're going to log all of these diagnostics and I'll report back for clarification if I find anything else.

Re: ParseResume Issue on API 2.0 (URGENT)

I know where the success field is, thanks. So you're telling me that I should retry any time success is false? What happens when it fails to parse the resume altogether? Shouldn't this failure be indicated in a different way than an intermittent failure?

Re: ParseResume Issue on API 2.0 (URGENT)

Hi Ryan, Thanks for the update concerning the failed requests. I still need a list of which errors should be retried and which are outright failures to parse. Without this list, it is hard to know which resumes the service is unable to parse and which are intermittent failures. If you could provide ...

Re: ParseResume Issue on API 2.0 (URGENT)

Hi Justin, I have run into the same error during our implementation and I have also seen a few other failures that I did not make note of. Can you provide some insight into which RexStatusStr values we should be retrying on and which are outright failures that are not recoverable? Adding this to you...

Re: Issues with parseResume

Now that I have been able to successfully parse a resume, I am curious how I can populate the resume (mapped to description from the API) on the candidate overview? The service returns XML, description from your API returns HTML, which does not appear to be included in the XML response. From a previ...

Re: Issues with parseResume

Thanks for posting that, I was finally able to reverse engineer what was going on. The content you posted is Base64 encoded, not once, but twice. Only after Base64 decoding the contents twice, then writing them out as binary to a file was I able to open the word document. With this knowledge, I was ...
