CandidateSearchAPI.cfm question

Have a question about Bullhorn's HTTP based APIs? You've found the right place.

API Update [posted on December 13, 2012]:

This version of the Bullhorn APIs should no longer be used.

All new work should be done using Bullhorn's REST or Web Services APIs. For more information please visit: http://developer.bullhorn.com/documentation

Bullhorn REST API provides a simpler and faster way for developers to build applications that interact with the Bullhorn platform and is used by Bullhorn Inc. to develop features of the Bullhorn ATS/CRM application.

Of the BullhornSTAFFING HTTP API interfaces listed below, our analysis shows that the following are most commonly used by developers:

Resume Parsing API
Published Job Data (XML)
The interface to these will continue to work as is because Bullhorn will replace the back end to use REST API. The URLs for these 2 specific APIs may change in the 2nd half of 2013; developers may require to update their applications to use the new URLs.

CandidateSearchAPI.cfm question

Post by administrator1 » Mon Mar 16, 2009 2:43 pm

Is there a way to use CandidateSearchAPI.cfm, but have the return XML present back all the fields (like GetProfileAPI.cfm does)
Also can i use CandidateSearchAPI and search for type and customtext5 fields?

Or is there a way to use GetProfileAPI.cfm and search by CategoryID and by SkillID?

Hello,

You will need to take the ID and use the "Candidate/Client Profile Lookup" API to get more information about a candidate. There are multiple sources behind the search and they do not all have access to the fields you are looking for.

Hello,

You can try, the module picks up the names. The name of the field would be "customText5" without the quotes. It will make it back to the engine but it may not make it to the parsing engine to be returned. Which PL are you working on?

Hi,

Currently, we do not have any other APIs that allow you to search on those fields. You could create a custom report and call that through the API. If you want to pursue that avenue you should coordinate that with Support and perhaps Professional Services as there would be some custom work.
