HTTP 503 for Add/Update User

Have a question about Bullhorn's HTTP based APIs? You've found the right place.

API Update [posted on December 13, 2012]:

This version of the Bullhorn APIs should no longer be used.

All new work should be done using Bullhorn's REST or Web Services APIs. For more information please visit: http://developer.bullhorn.com/documentation

Bullhorn REST API provides a simpler and faster way for developers to build applications that interact with the Bullhorn platform and is used by Bullhorn Inc. to develop features of the Bullhorn ATS/CRM application.

Of the BullhornSTAFFING HTTP API interfaces listed below, our analysis shows that the following are most commonly used by developers:

Resume Parsing API
Published Job Data (XML)
The interface to these will continue to work as is because Bullhorn will replace the back end to use REST API. The URLs for these 2 specific APIs may change in the 2nd half of 2013; developers may require to update their applications to use the new URLs.

HTTP 503 for Add/Update User

Post by shuddleston » Wed Oct 17, 2012 11:19 am

Hi,

I'm seeing periodic HTTP 503/500 response codes in my logs starting today 17 Oct 2012 around 11 AM EDT when using the Add/Update User legacy API.

For example,

Code: Select all

2012-10-17 16:00:08,276 WARN [ERROR] - Handler execution resulted in exception
java.lang.RuntimeException: response was something other than http 200 to url https://www.bullhornstaffing.com/BullhornStaffing/Update/AddUserProfilesAPI.cfm http status line: HTTP/1.1 503 Server Error
Also some 500 responses as well

Code: Select all

2012-10-17 16:00:24,714 WARN [ERROR] - Handler execution resulted in exception
java.lang.RuntimeException: response was something other than http 200 to url https://www.bullhornstaffing.com/BullhornStaffing/Update/AddUserProfilesAPI.cfm http status line: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
Are there any issues you are aware of at this time?

Thanks,

Scott

I'm guessing the following was the cause of my issues...

Cluster: All
Type: Performance
Service: http://www.bullhornstaffing.com
Status: Resolving
Reference: ESE-1752
Description: Users may be experiencing latency when attempting to log in at http://www.bullhornstaffing.com. Please log in at http://www.bullhorn.com.

Users may also be experiencing timeout errors when utilizing Bullhorn's legacy APIs. Our Bullhorn engineers are working to resolve these issues.
