Features missing or added to REST API vs SOAP

Post by agentgt » Tue Dec 18, 2012 11:14 am

I noticed that with the REST API you can now do a Lucene search.

What other things can you do with the REST API that you cannot do with the SOAP API (and vice versa)?

So here are some entities that are confirmed to work with REST:
BusinessSector
Candidate
CandidateEducation
CandidateReference
CandidateWorkHistory
Category
Certification
ClientContact
ClientCorporation
CorporationDepartment
Country
JobOrder
JobSubmission
Note
Placement
Skill
Specialty
State

----
Operations confirmed for REST:
addNoteReference
associate
associateMultiple
delete
deleteByID
eventsGetEvents
eventsGetLastRequestId
eventsRegetEvents
eventsSubscribe
eventsUnsubscribe
find
findMultiple
getAssociationIDs
getCertifications
getDepartmentUserIds
getEntityMetadata
getEntityNotes
getJobOrderMetadata
getNoteReferences
getUserDepartmentIds
getUserPrimaryDepartmentId
query
removeNoteReference
save
unassociate
unassociateMultiple

----------------------------------------------------

You should note that Timecard and Schedule/Appointments are not included.

In terms of operations:
Parsing, File attachment operations, and Edit History are not included in REST.

These are subject to change as development for REST is still on-going. I don't have any ETA's for that however.
