Hi Jason,

Notes and Candidates are the two entities you should be running the 'search' function for. For the JobOrder, please use the query function.

Thanks,

Soniya

Thank you for the reply. Could someone post an example URL to do a basic search on JobOrder entity? It seems like a very basic API use case, but I can't find any examples. I would like to be able to search the title and description field, but I'd settle for just searching the title field. Here are all of my failed attempts to do a JobOrder search:

this example returns zero results, though I have several joborders with ruby in the title:

Code: Select all

https://rest2.bullhornstaffing.com/rest-services/XXXX/query/JobOrder?BhRestToken=YYYY&fields=id,dateAdded,publicDescription,skillList,title&where=title='*ruby*'
this example throws an error that seems to indicate LIKE is not supported:

Code: Select all

https://rest2.bullhornstaffing.com/rest-services/XXXX/query/JobOrder?BhRestToken=YYYY&fields=id,dateAdded,publicDescription,skillList,title&where=title%20LIKE%20'%ruby%'
if you try to use description or publicDescription in the query you get a org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException

Code: Select all

https://rest2.bullhornstaffing.com/rest-services/XXXX/query/JobOrder?BhRestToken=YYYY&fields=id,dateAdded,publicDescription,skillList,title&where=publicDescription='*ruby*'
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jason,

Your first entry regarding doing a basic search on the JobOrder title : https://rest2.bullhornstaffing.com/rest ... tle='*ruby*' is giving zero results because the apis are looking for a JobOrder which has *ruby* (including the asterisks) in it. If you simply remove the wildcards your search will return jobOrder titles that have the word ruby in it.

Your second entry : https://rest2.bullhornstaffing.com/rest ... E%20'%ruby%'
is correct; however as you noticed, as of right now, the LIKE function is not supported. This is something that we will be working on.

Your last entry: https://rest2.bullhornstaffing.com/rest ... ion='*ruby*'
throws the hibernate.exception error because the publicDescription is stored as a CLOB.

Thanks,

Soniya
