Resource Owner Password Credentials Grant (Resolved)

Post by max_max_mir » Wed Jul 29, 2015 3:18 pm

Hello,

Does Bullhorn OAuth 2 support Resource Owner Password Credentials Grant as mentioned in the OAuth 2 RFC (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6749#section-4.3)?

As a test, I tried the following HTTP POST

URL:

Code: Select all

https://auth.bullhornstaffing.com/oauth/token?grant_type=password&username=<username>&password=<pwd>&client_id=<client_id>
Headers

Code: Select all

Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
and got back

Code: Select all

{
  "error": "invalid_client",
  "error_description": "Client authentication failed."
}
Either this form of getting access tokens is not supported, or I am doing something wrong. I've checked the client_id, username and pwd and they are correct.

Update: Thanks to this post, I figured it out.

Code: Select all

https://auth.bullhornstaffing.com/oauth/authorize?client_id=<....>&response_type=code&action=Login&username=<.....>&password=<.....>
The action=Login is key here.

For those who are using Postman on Chrome, here's what you need to do to get the redirected URL
  1. Install Interceptor - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... icfo?hl=en
  2. Enable Interceptor in Postman
  3. Go to Settings in Postman and disable automatic redirection.
