02660730 - Understanding custom fields

Post by RonanCheckr » Fri Jan 19, 2018 7:29 pm

Hi

I'm playing with custom fields in my sandbox,
but I'm not able to see them when I create a new record.

I changed the label of a customText1 on a Job entity, but when I open a form to add a Direct Hire Job, I can't find the field.
I didn't find any setting to add/remove fields from a "new record" form on the Layout settings neither.
I also made sure that the customText1 was not hidden.

Do you know what I'm missing here?

Best

Code: Select all

Here is the answer from the support team.
I had a quick look at your environment and know why you cannot see the new field. You created it under Job in field mappings. When creating a test job, you are selecting Direct Hire however this employment type is connected to Job III. These are called job tracks.

Here is a document that will help you understand tracks: http://bullhorn.force.com/pkb/articles/ ... rds-Tracks

You can remove the Job Track functionality by removing the employment type values from tracks II-V. This will make all employment types connect directly to the primary track.
