We are currently experiencing issues with notes not displaying, then displaying when refreshing on the notes tabs. A ticket has been raised to our engineers and operations team for review. I will notify you once I confirm the issue is resolved.

Hello MartinN2,

Our engineers have resolved the issue where notes where disappearing when clicking the refresh button multiple times, if you continue to have issues please let me know or have a designated contact our Support Line at 617-478-9126.

Yep the refresh issue seems to have been fixed.

Still got the problem with the delay in new notes not showing up in the notes tab...

I apologize for the issues that you are experiencing. Our engineering team is still working on the delay issue, it's been code fixed but is awaiting deployment. I will notify you upon resolution.

What is the status of this? I am posting notes via the API and I can draw them back via the API through their returned ID, but they are not showing up when I query the candidate in BH or via the API.

It takes 36 hours for this too take place still?

Hello aperlstein,

Good morning. I neglected to update this forum post, but the issue was resolved and code was deployed to resolve this issue back in July 2012.

Would you please provide me with a candidateID and noteID for an example that is not showing up in the application so that I can review a specific example in further detail.

Hello aperlstein,

I fixed this note, unfortunately there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the note data or values. Do you have other examples of this occuring?

I did notice that your primary private label is using an older version of our notes technology. Generally, especially if this is re-ocurring in your case, I would make a suggestion that we upgrade the notes to our new indexed version. If you would like to do this (recommended), please submit a new support ticket to our Bullhorn Resource Center (under the Support menu in Bullhorn). We can schedule a future date to upgrade the notes. Please note, when the upgrade does happen the notes will be temporarily inaccessible for a few hours. We generally will do this during the off hours for your business.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I had them upgrade the notes system as you indicated, support ticket [121025-000132], but it hasn't fixed the issue. You said you fixed the note I posted, but there wasn't anything fundamentally wrong with it. What does that mean? What did you do to get it to display properly?

I really need this fixed asap.

I do apologize if the new notes did not fix the issue. I am looking into this further with the analyst who owns ticket 121025-000132. Can you provide me with one or more examples that are not showing up after the notes were indexed? What is the scope of the issue exactly, do any notes added via the API appear properly in the application/just some?

Lastly, can you provide a sample SOAP response for how you are inserting new notes? I'm interested in looking at the DTO structure. I look forward to hearing back.

I added note just now with ID: 138672 for candidate id: 12611 via the API. It does not appear in the application nor have any of the notes I have ever posted via the API. I use the .NET web service framework so obtaining a SOAP response would be difficult, but it uses the exact web service declaration as published and I am using API version 1.1. Honestly, if you were able to "fix" one of the previous notes I posted via the API, I am confused as to why you don't already have a solution or some clue to the problem. It wouldn't really make sense that there is a problem with the SOAP or the data passed because it is being stored properly, just not displayed.

I will try to get you the SOAP response information, but I will expect that you will also be trying to fix the problem without it.

I guess I should have asked this earlier but I didn't think about it until you mentioned all notes having issues via the API. Sorry about that. Are you following up the Note save with the 'addNoteReference' operation? See http://developer.bullhorn.com/doc/versi ... y-note.htm This operation is what actually creates the link between the candidate/job/etc. entity to the note instance.

You can see on the link above it states the following for the personReferenceID property "...Important: This field must contain a value, but the reference must also be added using the addNoteReference operation. This also allows you to create an association with multiple people from a single Note."

Ok, now that I added the reference code it seems to be working, but sometimes intermittently. I added note 138762 and it shows up when I pull the list of notes associated with the candidate via the API GetEntityNotesWhere operation, however it does not appear in the Bullhorn Application under the candidate's (id 12611) note tab. I added note 138763 the exact same way, changed litterally nothing about my code and it shows up via the API function I just mentioned and it also shows up in the BH Application.

Hello,

Glad to hear the addNoteReference option helped.

I just logged in and checked candidate 12611's notes tab, both notes (138762, 138763) are appearing in the application. The notes tab is based upon a database index, more than likely the one note just took a few minutes to appear because it was not immediately added to the index.
