Error associating a secondaryOwner with a candidate

Post by paulkeeley » Mon Mar 25, 2013 6:18 am

I receive the following error when I attempt to associate a secondaryOwner with a candidate in the sandbox environment:

Error while commiting the transaction

This is the c# code:

oService.associate(BHSOAPSessionKey, "Candidate", 5873494, "secondaryOwners", 5872946);

The text from the InnerXML property of the .NET Data error object is attached to the post. May I draw your attention to the line that reads "<message>could not insert collection: [com.bullhorn.entity.candidate.Candidate.secondaryOwners#5873494]</message>"

I would appreciate your advice on how to work around the problem.

Hi Paul,

Are you still having problems with this request?

It doesn't look like there is anything wrong with the formatting. There are times where you will receive "error committing the transaction" when there is some type of failure in the API, so I just wanted to see if you were still having trouble with this.

Yes I am still having problems with this request. I receive the error consistently.

Can you confirm that my second and fourth parameter values are valid?

Please let me know if you need any other information from me to enable you ro recreate the error from your side.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

I looked into this further and was able to reproduce the error in your sandbox environment. The fourth parameter being passed, which is the userId for the CoporateUser you're trying to associate as a secondary owner of the candidate, appears to be an invalid value. This value should work: 5872956

There are multiple userIds for this particular individual in the sandbox database and 5872946 is a deleted row, so you should be able to run the operation using 5872956

Apologies for providing you with an invalid id.

Further to your suggestion I have used the id of 5872956. Unfortunately this results in the same error.

I have also tried the id's 5872982 and 5872957 with the same result.

I would be grateful if you could use the enclosed values to find out why I am still receiving the error. Please feel free to update the candidate with id 5873494.

Thanks for your efforts so far and I look forward to your response.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

I am also able to reproduce this error using that ID as well. After looking into this further, I believe this is related to an issues specific to your sandbox database.

Can you please submit a formal ticket to Bullhorn Support regarding the matter?

You can reference that we've been working on the issue here, and I will make sure to connect with the representative who receives the ticket.

Thank you,
