Dragnet Issues

Postby apsmith » Wed Sep 19, 2007 12:56 pm

This message is to provide an update on the recent issues affecting Dragnet's interaction with CareerBuilder and Monster. This issue is a priority and we working with our partners to find a solution as quickly as possible.

The underlying cause for these issues has been the changes made by Monster, CareerBuilder and other sites in reaction to recent media attention regarding the data security of resume databases. As these sites change their security protocols to protect job seeker data, we must adapt the Dragnet product to fit those protocols. Unfortunately several of these sites are continually changing their protocols and we are not in control of when the changes will be finalized.

Due to the complexity and dynamic nature of the Dragnet product and multiple job board websites, developing a resolution for the current issues may take some time and unfortunately we do not have an ETA on when all the issues will be resolved.

We will continue to send out updates regarding the Dragnet product to keep you fully informed. Again we apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we address these issues.

If you wish to discuss this issue further please contact Bullhorn Support at support@bullhorn.com or 617-478-9126.

Thanks for the update.

Can you be more specific regarding the types of known issues that people are experiencing? I'd like to be able to head off questions and support calls before they are made.

Thanks for the proactive help on this.

The types of issues we are seeing are often not seen unless viewing the activity logs for the agents. The basic symptom will be a lack or a trickle of results from an agent, but when looking at the specific error logs, you might see errors such as:

"Monster is still processing", "Reached the maximum amount of resumes", "Username and password are invalid", among others.

Basically, the login and or downloading modules that these sites built are under construction and thus our tools for interfacing with these modules need to be able to change to react, our main hurdle is that because of the frantic situation many of these boards are in, their messaging to their users is suffering and thus we need to be reactive rather than proactive when dealing with changes.

Thank you very much for the patience and the approach of heading off issues is very much appreciated.
