Hello,

Essentially, what I want to do is to be able to have a call return the total number of entities that, let's say, live in NY or have 'Smith' as a last name, for example. Can someone please point me in the right direction on how I'd be able do get this accomplished? It is for a dashboard-esque program that is to reflect our database in real-time.

I have managed to do this by adding the parameter "showTotalMatched=true" which always give me a total number of records. Generally used in combination with just requesting the id field to minimise the total response.
