Error while submitting the candidate in Bullhorn

Post by bullhorn »

I'm repeatedly getting an error while submitting through Bullhorn SOAP API
could you please let us know why this is happening?

Error while commiting the transaction--- at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at RGBSI.UpGlide.ViewModels.com.bullhornstaffing.api.ApiService.save(String session, abstractDto dto)

Hi there!

Could you please provide me with the information you are sending through SOAP where you get this error? Additionally which SOAP function are you using for this call? (ie. find, save, etc)

Thank you!

Hi,

com.bullhornstaffing.api.ApiService.save(String session, abstractDto dto)

I'm getting error in the above function. the execution point reaches here and then exception occurs. It is not for all the candidates but only for few candidates

please let me know if you need more info.

Thanks,
Syed

Hi Syed,

Could you also send me the data you are sending through SOAP? Like which fields you are trying to save?

Thank you!

If you are using SOAP, you can use the jobSubmission to change the Status and Source of the Candidate. In this case "Links" corresponds to "Submission"

More info here:
https://kb.bullhorn.com/soapapi/Content ... submission

You can also see all of the possible jobOrder associations here:

Hi There,

thanks for the response. need another help from you.

I'm inserting Appointment through Rest API. I'm able to see the appointment record under JobOrder>Activity>Appointment. but I want the Appointment which I created through rest API to be under
JobOrder>Links>Interview Appointments.

Thanks,
Syed.

Hi,

for the question related to moving the candidate from 'Link' to 'Present'. I had set jobsubmission.data.status = 'Present' and jobsubmission.data.source = 'Present'.
the status of the candidate was set to 'Present', But the candidate has not moved to present section.
please let me know where I'm going wrong.

Thanks,
Syed.

Instead of updating the the candidate Status - could you try to update the Submission Status? This would be on the jobSubmission Entity instead of the Candidate Entity. Since you want the candidate to move through the submissions, the jobSubmission Entity is where you want to focus on.

Anything on that "links" page should be managed with the jobSubmission Entity.

Regrading creating Interviews this would be done by creating an appointment with a type of "Interview". The "type" field here matters and corresponds to where it can be found.

Hi,

I'm actually updating the jobsubmission entity and not candidate entity.

setting the Jobsbumission status ='Present' through Rest API is setting the status dropdown value to 'Present' but not moving the submission to ''Present'.
what should I do to move the candidate submission to 'Present'?.

let me know if you need more info from my side.

Thanks,
Syed.

Instead of setting the Status to "Present" could you try to set the status to Sendout? The official name of Present is Sendout - changing this may update the Candidate as desired.

Fingers crossed for the best,

Hi,

I tried to set the jobsubmission status = 'Sendout'. it did not move to 'Present'.

Is it possible to move to 'Present' through the rest API?

please find the attached image.

Let's go back to updating the status as "Present" instead of sendout - this seems to be more visual than anything.

In addition to updating the status, you need to make a subsequent API Request to create the 'Sendout', which is what Client Submissions are in the API.

Here's our documentation regarding the Sendout Entity:
