Mapping properties from one object to another

Post by wtdeveloper »

I've been referred to this location to post my quandary by Bullhorn Customer Support.

My case is as follows: I have a custom property, lets call it PropertyX, on Lead and ClientContact information. I would like to be able to include changes on this property when converting a Lead so that when a Lead is converted, the resulting object will have the PropertyX property including data. I'd like to be able to implement this in the ATS without having to go through the additional effort of writing a customizable REST client or forking the Bullhorn one, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this.

If the only available option is to build or fork a REST-client, I'd like to know so we can consider our options.

Greetings Wtdeveloper,

I have a couple of questions on this post.

1. Are you intending for this to be part of the on save action of converting the Lead to a ClientContact?
2. Is PropertyX a standard field, or a CustomObject?

There may not be a big difference in my answer, but specifics are always helpful in a case such as this one.

Also, just so you know, it is entirely possible that the end result will be a suggestion for a form trigger or custom code through Bullhorn Professional Services.

Hi,

Yes, I'm intending for it to be a part of the save action.
It is a customText field, not a fully fledged customObject as far as I'm aware.

Thanks!
